Sites
A Site is a formal collection assets that includes:
- own set of Page Configuration Sets, Content Types, Metadata Sets, Asset Factories, Data Definitions, Publish Sets, Workflow Definitions- NO targets, but a collection of destinations to which assets publish- users/groups members of the SiteSites will allow for:- Roles that are local to that siteTarget properties that will be moved:- Serialization Type (to the Page Configuration)- Output Extension (to the Page Configuration)- CSS Classes/File (to the Site) -

A method to send administrative messages to active users
It would be nice if you could somehow send a message (a noticable
message, not to the users’ inboxes) to the active users so that they
can be notified that, for example, the system is going down for
maintenance at a specified time. This would smooth out the process of
doing all of these upgrades by helping to eliminate the need for admins
to contact each user individually, or just kick them out of the system
and risk lost work. -

Allow Template sharing across Sites
With the addition of Sites, would be great to be able to keep Templates in a common location and re-use them across multiple Sites.

Contextual (Site-specific) Roles
With Sites in place, would like the ability to create new custom Roles and assign users/groups Roles on a per-Site basis.

Robust Cross-Site Linking
Would like the ability to link to an asset on a different Site that may be published to an entirely different server. In this case, the Site URL of the linked-to asset would be used to determine the published location of that asset.

I’d like to see the ability to create arbitrary roles with whatever collection of abilities you want.

Possible Cascade Server 6.0 Public Beta
In anticipation of Cascade Server 6.0, Hannon Hill is considering
releasing a Public Beta of this version for users to test. The goal
would be to garner as much customer feedback as possible prior to the
official release. Please use this thread to express your interest or
disinterest in participating in such an initiative. -

Update Cascade Server Firefox Extension to work with 6.0
Update the Cascade Server Firefox Extension from version 1.3.7 so that it works with Version 6+ of Cascade Server.

Syntax highlighting for raw xml editing
Add syntax highlighting to textareas used for editing raw xml assets like templates, structured data definitions, workflow definitions, etc.

Fix Forum Search
Search results in the forum/success community are all but unusable. The headings for each result have so few characters shown that it is almost impossible to get a sense of whether each result pertains to what one is actually looking for. This could be easily fixed by increasing the character count for the search results headings, as well as possible making the type smaller to accommodate the increased character count. What good is a search feature if the returned results cannot be scanned to find a meaningful result?

I’d like to see support for Velocity Templates in Cascade as another option that can be used in the same manner as XSL

Abstain votes in idea Exchange
Simple example: An idea has a score of 4 votes. I vote for it, so now it has a score of 5. After further reflection, I decide I don’t want to vote for it (it doesn’t meet a need for me). My only option (besides leaving my positive vote in place) is to vote against it, which not only removes my positive vote, but adds a negative vote in its place – resulting in a score of 3 in this example.
I suggest having a 3rd option between thumbs-up and thumbs-down that basically un-votes for me on this idea (just as if I have not yet voted).
This new icon might also indicate that I have voted already, which would be useful as I tend to “discover” ideas again, only to notice the score is unaffected by my new (repeat) vote. -

Asset Factories: first/last option to folder placement position
In addition to specifying a numeric placement position for a new asset, it’d be great to be able to specify it as being placed more generically in “first” or “last” position in the folder.
